Following the challenges of the pandemic, El Picante embraced a new chapter, combining years of experience with a renewed focus on authenticity, quality, and innovation.

Founded by Elly, who has over a decade of experience within the catering and hospitality industry, El Picante has built its reputation on delivering exceptional Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. Working alongside talented Mexican chefs, our mission has always been simple: to bring the vibrant flavours, traditions, and hospitality of Mexico to every customer we serve.

Our journey began in April 2012 with a small food trailer and a big dream. Through hard work, dedication, and the support of our loyal customers, we steadily grew our business and established a strong reputation across the region. As demand increased, El Picante evolved from a mobile food operation into a successful restaurant.

In December 2016, we proudly opened our first restaurant, welcoming up to 90 guests across two floors. The restaurant quickly became known for its authentic Mexican dishes, warm atmosphere, and commitment to quality.

In April 2023, we expanded the El Picante brand with the launch of Casa Picante, our dedicated takeaway concept. Casa Picante is proudly operated by Alisha, daughter of founder Elly. Having grown up around the family business, Alisha shares the same passion for authentic Mexican cuisine and exceptional customer service. Working alongside her mother, she is committed to continuing the family tradition while bringing fresh ideas and energy to the next generation of the business. Together, they strive to ensure every customer enjoys the very best Mexican food experience.

In February 2026, El Picante entered an exciting new phase of its journey, transitioning from a full-service restaurant to a modern takeaway concept with a welcoming outdoor dining area. This move allowed us to focus on delivering the same freshly prepared, high-quality Mexican food our customers know and love, while providing a fast, convenient service for today's lifestyle. Although our format has evolved, our commitment to authentic flavours, generous portions, and exceptional customer service remains unchanged.

Today, our passion is stronger than ever. We continue to combine traditional Mexican recipes with modern Tex-Mex influences, creating bold flavours and memorable dining experiences. From handcrafted tacos and freshly prepared burritos to our signature homemade sauces, and slow-cooked specialities, every dish is prepared with care, authenticity, and attention to detail.
